These vintage gujrati
hand embroidered patchwork tapestry wall hangings are a one
of the rare
types of tapestry wall
hangings from India. These patches used to make these tapestry wall
hangings are collected from the remote regions of Gujrat (state of India)
and then travel all the way to different parts of the world after a few more
enhansements and customisation to suit todays world's needs. We put the patches
together and hand
embroider further in a beautiful way and also line it with a fresh cloth
(cotton/ Poly cotton) to help home decorate it the best possible way to give it
a final form of a tapestry wall hanging.
At times now even the tapestry wall hangings
are made in the remote regions itself. The patches are around 10-50 years old.
These patches are taken out from various apparel/ textiles products and then
used to make the tapestry wall hangings. Need more information on how they are
made, read the manufacturing process. These speciality tapestry wall hangings
have irregularity in the patches and depict the wear and tear of time which are
not their imperfections, infact are their real cost. The tapestry wall hangings
also do have some stains on the patches depicting their authenticity. There is
a little different variety of work and that varies from tapestry to tapestry
hence some may just have cotton thread work. You can see the awesome intricate hand embrodiery done mainly
with cotton threads. The embroderies are mainly done by females at home in
remote areas. Each and every patch and their tapestry wall hanging is so unique
and beautiful that it adds a totally new dimension to your home or office decor.
